Default How To Remove A Name From A Mortgage

My fiance signed as a guarantor on his sister's house awhile ago. The only reason he did so was because he and his sister had a verbal agreement that she would do whatever she could to take his name off the mortgage after 6 months' time. Well, this time has passed, and he asked her if she could go ahead and do what she could to get him off. She completely ignored him, and is not going through with her promise.
Is there anything that can be done?

Ya, good luck with this one.

Curious as to why the sister needed a co-signer and what has changed that would allow sis to obtain a mortgage without a co-signer now.

Six months isn't a long time in terms of mortgage money. Chances are your fiance is simply stuck as is. Hopefully a lesson learned and hopefully sis continues to pay on time.

The only one with the right to release him is the mortgage company. Never cosign for anyone, anytime. I have a sign on a pice of paper that I show someone everytime they ask me if it is OK to cosign. It reads:
    YOU ARE A MORON
    No offense.

I'm the person in question here.
I actually made a post requesting input about this a few months back:

    http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8436

Sucks to say, but now that the 6 months has passed, I'm still on the mortgage. My dad didn't end up claiming bakruptcy in order to try to put his name onto the re-financed mortgage.
Their term (or something in those regards) is supposed to end in the near future (within a year I think) and that is what I'm told to be the deadline for when then can have someone else onto the re-financed mortgage as a guarantor or co-signer. Ideally my dad at that point.

I know that this whole situation wasn't ideal, but the fact is that I got pushed into it without knowing as much as I should have, and blindly beleiving the "facts" that my family were fed by the mortgage broker and financial advisor (of the bank that provided the mortgage), but now i need to deal with what has been given to me....

Atleast I am not co-signer, but guarantor. Although it provides me less rights, I am not forced to give up my abilities as a first home buyer when I do eventually get one.

    Any advice?

    Thanks
