    Default Credit Card Dispute

I have an ongoing dispute with a store credit card.

They say that in sept 05 I purchased something. I cut my card up way before that and I know that I didn't. After calling them about this bill, the cust service rep told me that my card hadnt been swiped but the number typed in. I went on to dispute this, which I had 90 days from the original statement date to do so.

To make a long story short:

-I filed the dispute in the time limitations.
-It's been so long that I hardly remember what exactly happened, but for a few months I stopped getting letters from them so I thought it was taken care of.
-Earlier this year, I started getting letters and phone calls again about my account being past due.
-Their cust service is useless and no one can help me, its just a massive "transfer you here, transfer you there". I get bounced from cust serv to dispute to collections dept and back and forth.
-I tell them that I disputed it, and now, all I get is told that its too late to dispute it and I had to do that within 90 days, which I originally did but I can't get that point across to them. They just keep telling me its too late but I have records of the letters and forms I filled out and they were within the dates.
-I had an "acct manager" who I have never been able to get ahold of since the first time we spoke, and I walked her through the series of events that happened and she told me to resend all the old letters in as well as new updated ones, but the only thing I get back is letters stating that its too late.
-This $70 purchase that I did not make has now turned in over $250 and their nightmare of a customer service/dipspute dept has been useless.

I don't know what to do. I'm not paying. It's now to the point that its been so long since the original transaction that they no longer have receipt copies or much of any record pertaining to this.

    Default Re: Credit Card Dispute

Check the dispute resolution provisions of your credit card agreement. You may be able to demand arbitration, or have some other remedy.
