Default Tennessee Paternity Law
The question is:What's the Tennessee law that pertains to this particular issue. A father has been paying child support for almost two years for a child that he believed was his however within the last few months the mother has made numerous statements that he isn't the child's father. If the DNA test results show he isn't the father but his name is on the birth certificate what can be done to excuse him from financial support of this child.

Default Tennessee Paternity
He has been voluntarily paying support? There is no support order, he wasn't married to the mother at the time of conception or birth, he isn't named on the birth certificate, hasn't executed an affidavit of parentage, and hasn't been adjudicated the father as a result of paternity proceedings?

Default paternity
They were married. And as far as I know the support was court ordered, however he was already paying support before the divorce was final.

Default Married, Divorced, Wants to Contest Paternity
Where a child is born during wedlock, it is difficult to challenge paternity following a divorce, as the divorce judgment will reflect paternity. The time to raise any such issues is during the pendency of the divorce. It may be possible to get relief from the judgment, but it would be wise to get the help of a lawyer.

Beyond that, and you'll excuse my being judgmental, if this is about trying to get out of paying child support, it's a pretty poor parent who would give up a child they had raised as their own to avoid a support obligation.
