Power Company Easement

I have a parcel of land with a driveway disecting it. There is also a power line easement that runs perpendicular to the driveway crossing it in the middle.

This land is in N.W. wisconsin and has a year around house on the lake. I have been broken into several times and also have a problem with 4 wheelers tearing up my driveway.

Question do I have the right to block off the easement with a gate and furnish the power co with a key. I need to protect my property and cannot do so with the open access via the easement.

Shouldn't be a problem. Why didn't you just call the power company first?

I did and was told they had to check with their legal dept. They never returned a follow up call. So thought I would check here before going to an attorney.
