Emancipation in Missouri

Hey I have a serious question. I'm turning 17 in december and I'm wanting to move out and live with my friend. My friend already said I can but my parent's said that Missouri got rid of the emancipation law over the summer. Is that true? I've been planning to move out since I was 15 and suddenly my parent's said I can't when 2 years ago they said I could. Are they bluffing?

Missouri has no emancipation statute, but seems to permit common law emancipation - you would have to file a legal action and convince a court that you should be emancipated.
