    Default What is a Deposition

    Hello ,
What is a depostion? And does this mean you go to trial afterwards or it possible to settle after a deposition?
    Thank you very much.

I would expect that in a typical slip-and-fall case both depositions would be wrapped up in three or so hours, but there's no way to be sure.

Sometimes depositions drag on interminably whether due to the complexity of the case, the zealous approach of the lawyer holding the deposition, or due to that lawyer's lack of organization or preparation for the deposition. Sometimes there's a lot of medical and treatment information that needs to be documented, which also takes time.
