Florida Painting Property Line Fence

I am in Florida. When I purchased my house, I was told the fence was put up by the previous owner. It borders the property of my neighbors yard, nice side facing them on the line. I was out of town for a week, and when I came back they painted the otherside of the fence pink. (Up until then it was the natural treated wood color) I was not asked if this could be done by my neighbor. They do have a gate hitched to the fence, as they asked the previous owner and he agreed.

I have been told two different things and I am not sure if this is considered my fence, and if she was in the wrong for painting it without permission.

If it is your fence, she shouldn't have painted it. It sounds like it's time to resolve the question of whose fence it is.

I apologize, I didn't put my main question in the post.

Does florida have a joint ownership fence law? From what I can find, there is not one. The only one I can find is for trees.

I would be interested to see that statute, if you can recall its citation / statute number.

A search on the Florida legislature site didn't produce such a (theoretical) statute, although there was this one on the owner's duty to maintain a fence.
