Misdemeanors and Their Classes

Im inquiring in reference to the state of texas laws about getting a misdemeanor expunged. I was involved in a Shop-lifting case with foleys and the total amount was $54. I received deferred adjudication and also a 9month probation. I am seeking employment and because of it being on my record still, I cant get a good job. My record is the only thing that holds me back. So, I was wondering if I could get it expunged or sealed. It should be two years in Jan 2007 ( as far as when the courts finished all of the paper work). It will be two years that I completed my community service/probation November of this year.

Tell us the class of the misdemeanor charge for your deferment. Did you successfully complete the sentence, and get the dismissal? (Your post suggests "yes", but it's good to be absolutely clear.)

You should qualify for sealing your record (called a non-disclosure) since you completed deferred adjudication and there is no waiting period before you can file for theft.
