Do you have a lawyer? If you hire a criminal defense lawyer or get a court-appointed lawyer they will get a copy of the police report, which should describe the facts underlying the charge. You can probably get the report through the prosecutor's office yourself, but note that they will only give you one copy - if you lose it they won't give you another, and if you later hire a lawyer (or have one appointed) they won't give your lawyer a second copy. (So don't lose it.) It's possible to get a replacement copy from the police, but there would be a small charge and may be a delay.
