Dear Sir / Madam,
I have been told by ebay.co.uk that, they have removed my auction listing because I have used the word "jiffy" in the following context. "Jiffy Post" and in separate auctions "Jiffy Mail"
These two word descriptions at the end of my auction titles are intended to inform the buyer that I will post their items immediately.
Ebay explained to me that they had received a complaint from a company that claims to own the trademark to the generic word "jiffy". As far as I am aware this company are associated with "jiffy bags" which are very popular padded envelopes here in the United Kingdom.
The meaning of the word jiffy as described in the dictionary is as follows:-
jiffy –noun, a very short time; moment: to get dressed in a jiffy.
I would appreciate any advice you could give me regarding this matter.
Yours Sincerely
Mathew Furniss
United Kingdom
