Default Chapter 7 With Auto And Credit Card Debt

I looking to file for Chapter 7...My only concern is my 2004 Jeep Liberty which has two years of payments left on it. I also have a credit card/ through the same lender and or bank.. Large National Bank....Will I get to keep my car, and or will the Bank try to get back the credit card debt by taking my car? Also I heard it's best not to have money in a bank that is one of your credit card holders before you file...I'm planning on moving my checking two a diff bank. Although I will continue to make payments on the car...Just not sure about the car....I owe 2500 to this particular credit card.

    Please let me know?

Default Re: Chapter 7 / Auto / Credit Card

You would normally have the option of keeping your car, subject to the limits on exemptions in your state and your continued payment of the loan.

You should consult a local bankruptcy lawyer, though, as many people no longer qualify for a Chapter 7 discharge.
