Default Help Getting Out Of A Lease With an Abusive Boyfriend

Hi there Im looking for some adivce on a situation my sister got herself into, she co-signed a 12 month lease with her abusive boyfriend, which she is afraid she can not get out of. She is staying with me due to she is to terrfied of staying at the apartment alone. Is there anyway that with her feeling like her life is being threathen that she could get out of the lease and just leave it all to him, she will be meeting with the victims advocate as well as the General attorney, I was thinking that if she talked to them bout the apartment and how she feels, that she would be able to get out of the lease with no problem. This apartment is in Denver, Co and I dont know if different states have the same laws as far as a lease goes. Any help asap would so very much be appreciated..

Perhaps she can obtain a personal protection order which excludes him from the rental. Perhaps the landlord would agree to release her from the lease.
