    Post Unresolved DUI

I have an unresolved DUI, 2nd offense, from 1999 in VA; Va Beach carries it as an "inactive: warrant. I have been living in a small town in NC, not driving and alcohol-free for 7+ years. I would like to obtain my NC license but the VA DMV won't reinstate me until Va Beach decides what they want to do, and NC won't do anything until the Nat'l Drvers Registry block fro VA DMV is removed. I have paid VA DMV the reinstatement fee, but Va Beach is next to impossible to contact. Should I wait for the court system to purge it's records, or whatever they do for "inactive" warrants? I live 6 hours away, and as stated, don't drive or own a vehicle.

The court system will not "purge" their records until you take care of the situation. Have you written them a letter?
