My question involves criminal law for the state of: Federal (inside a National Park)
I was at a National Park beach with some friends on separate cars. As we are leaving the beach our friend realized he dropped something and we decided to return.
I'm leading the road and decided to pull over to let him pass, as he knows where he dropped what he dropped, so I park when a park police stop him behind me.
He was questioned and then I was also questioned even though the police did not stop me directly. I did the tests (follow the finger, walk the 9 steps, raise leg and count out loud 1000-1020).
Then they started deciding and decided to use the breathalyzer, I did not refused (don't know what's better).
So I was arrested for DUI with a number of .14 or something like that more than 0.08.
They took me to the county jail they do not have a jail in the park I guess and detained me for 8 hours.
I now supposedly have to wait for a mail and go to court.
It was the park patrol, so it is a federal issue looks like.
My question is Can I appeal the arrest as they did not directly stop me, as I park myself to wait for my friend? is it legal what they did?
Thanks
