My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: Maryland
This is similar except I AM in Baltimore County:
Md. TRANSPORTATION Code Ann. § 21-10A-03 (2012)
§ 21-10A-03. Location to which vehicles towed or removed
***A vehicle may not be towed or otherwise removed from a parking lot to a location that is more than 10 miles from the parking lot.
My car was towed from outside my apartment in Baltimore County for lack of displayed permit. The apartment's contracted towing company's lot is 13-15 miles away in google maps depending on the route taken. I was charged $240 to get my car back, I missed a day of work, I incurred a lot of mental distress and am really pissed. I don't particularly need the money, but I am willing to invest some time and effort for justice.
What do I do at this point?
Talk to a laywyer, go to small claims court or both?
Do I go after the towing company for breaking the law, the apart complex for contracting with the law breaking towing company or both?
Can I include all of my neighbors who have been illegally towed in this to get bigger win for justice?
