I am writing in request of assistance because of a situation I am faced with.
I am a resident of Toronto Canada and bought a vehicle (98 Saab convertible) in the Kansas area in mid-July. The vehicle was damaged and undriveable at the moment of the purchase.
I contracted a local collision shop to repair the vehicle prior to me driving it home. This was done on July29/06 with an estimate and he was to collect the vehicle on Aug.1/06. He collected the vehicle on Aug.02/06 and I incurred a 20$ storage fee because of being late.
I have contacted the Collision shop a number of times to receive an update and some photos of the vehicle being repaired. Although he promised he would on our conversations he has never sent any pictures.
Also I have a number of times requested also for a date of the repair being completed so I could coordinate to send the requested paperwork to U.S. Customs for exportation and fly down to pay and collect my car.
Now some 50 days have gone by and I have yet no car. the owner of the Collision shop is avoiding my calls or when I do get a hold of him I get the run around.
What legal recourse do I have and what would you suggest I do in order to collect my car and the costs incurred by me throughout all of this as I am sitting some 1000 miles away.
I could really use some help
Thank you
