Default Recieved Papers today "Request Default" Divorce

Hello, I must say that I am and have been in denial with my husband filinf for a divorce. We were married for 15 years and have been seperated for the past 4 years. We have to daughters.

I have not responded to any of the divorce papers. Today in the mail I recieve a "Request for Default". My question is can I NOW RESPOND?

He has been paying child support for the last four years at $600 a month which is or has been our agreed upon amount. By the divorce papers does not mention child support at all. He tells me that this will continue to be our agreement. The divorce papers also says that he has the girls 3 day out of the week and that has changed.

Am I too late to respond? and if I'm not....will be expense for me to file a response? Thank you. I live in Fresno Ca and could really use some help at this late time.

Honestly, I thought we could make it.

    Lisa

Default Re: Recieved Papers today "Request Default" Divorce

I would suggest trying to get a consultation with a divorce lawyer tomorrow, to have the documents reviewed and, depending upon the outcome of the consultation, to have the lawyer file an appearance and answer the complaint.
