Ok, hopefully I can sum this up quickly. My husband whom I've been divorcing for almost 2 years because of his alcohol problem has been charged with 3 DUIs in 3 different towns/counties in Illinois. The first in Cook co./Chicago, second in Dupage co./Naperville and the 3rd in Kendall co. where he was held for 60 days in the county jail and released. All 3 arrests occured with a recent 6 month period.
He has now fled the state of IL to Louisiana to avoid 2 arrest warrants issued in the first two arrests - both = failure to appear...suprise suprise.
I have called just about every agency, arresting department, and prosecutor regarding this, and I get different information everytime whether either state can do anything. Crimestoppers has been notified also, I'm sure if he is not convicted properly - he's going to continue to drive drunk and kill someone.
What charges does he now face in IL? Is he now a felony fugitive? What agency would be interested in these facts? Will he recieve a default conviction in all these cases he is not defending himself for?
Thanks!
