    Default Traffic Ticket "Success" Story

So, I had a thread already posted, but it was "closed", maybe due to time expiring. Anyway, wanted to let the community know that I was refunded my entire bail that I posted, and "won" my trial by declaration.

Here's how it went down: When I got the ticket, I went online and requested a 60 day extension on the due date. Then two days before the due date, I sent in the Trial by Declaration form, and very simply stated: "I stand by my plea of not guilty". A month later, I see my check for bail was cashed, I was kind of worried. However, several weeks pass and today I get a form in the mail saying my ticket has been dismissed. It was CVC 22350 btw.

not sure exactly what this means, but I will be happy to receive my $360.00 back from the state of california! I would guess that it means the officer did not submit his declaration.

So, go for the extension, submit a (simple?) trial by declaration, and see where it goes from there!

There is no such thing as a "closed" thread... In the few years I have been on this forum, I may have seen one or two "closed" threads, but that was because people got belligerent and stupid!

And I would say "congrats", but really, you did nothing to earn it... In fact it appears you did not even request a copy of the survey. Now say a prayer for (LOL) the many people who went to both a TBD and a TDN and then still had to appeal and are still waiting for a decision (and no, not even close to talking about myself)...

Then again, this got a chuckle out of me:

First you say you have no clue how/why it happened...

And then you are giving advice on how to accomplish the same result, even though there is NOTHING you can do to guarantee the same result!

So I guess everything, even the silly, has its value!

Ah, thanks for clarifying, Aaron. I can't tell you how many times people have posted that their old threads were "closed", only for me to go there and find them still open. Now I understand. Makes sense.

Where am I going? And why am I in this handbasket?
