My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: CA
Took in my new car to have its windows tinted ($299.99 for 3 windows).
Chose 3M's best/most expensive film. Less then one month later I saw
about 15 small bubbles on the rear window and a few more on the right
rear door window. Took the car back into the installer where he applied
some kind of special liquid. Bubbles came right back the next day. Now
the installer refuses to re-tint the windows. This is an authorized 3M installer.
Their lifetime warranty clearly states "3M AND THE AUTHORIZED WINDOW
FILM DEALER (COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS THE SELLER HEREIN) WARRANT
THAT THE FILM INSTALLED WILL NOT BLISTER, BUBBLE NOR DELAMINATE FROM
THE GLASS FOR AS LONG AS YOU OWN YOUR VEHICLE". I have the agent for
service addresses for both 3M which is an LLC and their authorized installer
which is a INC. My question is which one do I serve/sue when I file my small claims
court law suit? I wouldn't want to re-file everything because I served the wrong
entity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Amy
