My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Georgia
Well as of today 8/4/2012 I went to the Ga Dmv to try to renew my license because it is about to expire in the next few days. Well first of all I would like to start out saying that I am not a United States citizen, by I am a permanet resident. Well the Permanent Resident Card is about to expire, so in April I went to get it renewed, I filled the application and they placed a sticker on the back of my card giving me an extention untill March of 2013 or until I am sent my new card. Well I went to the DMV, everything was checked out in the front area, I have my drivers license, my immigration card with the extended and validity of the card, proof of residentance in the state of Georgia, Paystub, and bank statement, and my social security card. I waited on my number to be called and everythging seemed ok. The person behind the desk said they could not renew my license because I had a suspension in the State of Illinois, but I have never drove to Illinios nor have I lived there, but it seemed that all my information was registered there. I cant renew my license until I resolve the issue. They mentioned somthing about having to clear it with the Illinios National Driver records, but I am at a lost here and my license will quickly expire. Can anyone help or give advice on how I am to proceed with this case.
