Called Shortened Name and Told Inappropriate Comments

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: To put it short I worked for an employer where a realitive used to be in charge. Then he left. To keep it short my bosses called me a shortened name (so if my name had 5 letters they would only say the first 3). In addition, I was told inappopriate comments about my weight (being too thin). For example a boss might say you are so skinny. And one time he even said he did not think I was capable of having kids (please note I am male). In addition, my boss was the type who kept all the work to himself. Meaning you could sit there all day with nothing to do but he has no interest in sharing any work. Would I have any grounds for anything.

On the face of it, nothing about what your boss saying is illegal. Why do you think he's making these comments?

Please specify in what US state this is happening. There is a reason for this question and, while unlikely, it is *possible* that the state may make a difference to at least one of your issues.

To keep it short my bosses called me a shortened name (so if my name had 5 letters they would only say the first 3). So if your name is Thomas, they're calling you Tom? If you prefer Thomas and they know that, then they're being rude but that's hardly a basis to sue.

ok what about if it were the other way around. So i am mocked for being thin. So if I were fat and they made fat jokes wouldn't that be grounds for something. Is it too late to report it now the jokes about being thin.

No. It wouldn't. Not in NJ, or 47 other states, and only a few communities in one of the other two.

No legal authority is going to take a complaint about jokes about you, or anyone, being too thin OR too fat.
