When Will a Store Have Video Of You Stealing Merchandise

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arkansas
I very stupidly shoplifted a $200 item at best buy! No alarms went off and no one followed me' out the door. I simply got into my car and left. I noticed there was a magnetic bar code on the item when I got home. Someone pulled into my driveway abs then left around 4 am. They came back around 5:15 and they were shining flashlights in my door. I'm assuming it was the police otherwise, why would intruder be shining a flashlight?! I freaked out and ran to my room and locked the door completely terrified!!! I never heard them knock or come in. After a while passed, I crawled to the door to c if anyone was still there and no one was. I grabbed my keys to car and took off!! I'm terrified to go back! Will they come back? How did they catch me'? Don't they have to have my LP # to find my house? Could I get charges dropped if I confess to store manager and return the item. If not, is there anything I could tell them (even if I must lie) to get out of this or say it wasn't me' but someone else in my car?? Anything? Help!! I'm do scared to go back home. What will happen next?

If the police were investigating you for shoplifting, they wouldn't have refrained from knocking on your door.

Stop stealing. That way you won't have to worry about getting caught stealing. If you want to assuage your conscience, you can send the store a money order for the value of the item you stole along with an anonymous note explaining its purpose, keeping the receipt for your records "just in case".

As for the past... you'll have to wait and see what catches up with you.

OMG that's funny! Thievery induced Paranoia? Well...thieves make it difficult for the rest of us, so you totally deserve it! Just because you left, doesn't mean they won't find you! Whomever it was will just wait until you are home: you have to go back sometime! I can imagine you now: gloating over your stolen item! Bragging about it to your friends...then cowering on your floor, like some wimp, at the very hint of some retribution! I hope it was the police or the store LP officer...I hope they get you! Your thievery drives prices through the roof for the rest of us! Don't do the crime if you can't do the time...without cowering on the floor like a scared rabbit! 8)

Haven't you ever seen the banks of LP cameras at the Best Buy entrance? That's only a tiny fraction of what they have. They have this large room with a lot more......

I would wager that Best Buy stores have video of everyone who picks their nose, let alone shoplifters. The only question is whether they know who you are.
