My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Illinois
My vehicle was in front of another vehicle parked in my driveway in front of my garage. What legal options do I have if the repo man moved one vehicle leaving it parked almost out of my driveway, (have pictures), they broke into my van and now it is hard to close the driver side door and there is some rear damage, to repossess another vehicle. I know the laws have changed regulating repossessions in the state of Illinois, and that there are suppose to be Fed and State regulations/law preventing them from doing wrongful repossessions. Also, it is a possibility that an officer may have watched on while they were doing so. I do know that local police are not suppose to assist in repossessions. My neighbor takes videos of what goes on between his and our house, so it may be easier to obtain proof.
I just want to know do I have a case and if so in what way and what violations and laws were broker, if any.
Thank you in advance to the responses.
