My question involves personal finance in the State of: South Carolina
Nearly a year ago a friend of mine had her bank account frozen soon after she filed a law suit against a major international business organization in SC...She stated to me that the bank was ordered to use the Patriot Act to freeze her account until further notice..she is NOT in any way a "threat" to the US or any other person or entity...It has been nearly a year now and the bank will NOT release any of her funds in her checking/or savings accounts..The court says they have the power to evoke the "P.A." anytime its deems necessary with NO explanation..
.This past year as she continues to earn income thru her employer these funds are added to her existing balance each and every week as the outcome of the hearing painstakingly makes it way thru the court system at a "Turtle" speed....She has not had access to ONE PENNY of her earned payroll in over a year and the court continues to deny her access to the funds. She is desperate for money and has been told she can not even accept another job elsewhere for income because those payroll funds will also been locked..she has received help from friends and family in order to make it Thru the past year
What is up with our Republic style government....When did we become a socialist and authoritative style gov't....I am fed up with how our gov't and courts always seem to favor the "Big Business" model..I believe that the Big Business involved in the legal suit is applying "some covert" pressure thru the court system to force my friend to drop the case ..
She has two lawyers assisting here and they seem to think that the gov't can do what they want and she will just have to endure the financial pain or drop the case to have her bank account unlocked....it is appalling to think that her lawyers can't get her access to a small $200-300 per week of her nearly $800+ she makes every week..
I appreciate any suggestions that you might have to offer...
I am very frustrated and angry for her...
