Legal Age to Move Out in Canada
Not necessarily wanting to get emancipated from parents but I'd like to know what the legal age in Canada is to move out of parents home to live with someone else. I know the legal age to drop out of school is 16 does that go for moving out too????

In Manitoba, the age of majority is 18.
I see you have several threads going so I'll address the marriage issue here.

Re: Canadian Laws???
I know the age of majority is 18 in Manitoba but I have been told it's possible to move out at 16 already. I'm 17 now and really don't want to live with my parents anymore and I don't really want to go to court if I don't have to so I'm just wondering if I just pack my things and move out just like that and not worry about any legal issues.

Re: Canadian Laws???
I've seen a lot of people claim that you can establish an independent household at 16 in Canada. I've never seen anybody back that up with actual legal authority.

Re: Legal Age to Move Out in Canada
My parents went to the police about it when I tried moving away.
If you do move away or in many parents case "run away" the most the cops can do is reassure the parents that their child is ok.. they cant force them to go back.. Unless ur under the age of 16 of course

Re: Legal Age to Move Out in Canada
In Canada the new legal age to move out is 16 with or without parental consent so if any one who is 16 and older and wants to move out they can without parental consent

So there's a new national law? Do you have a citation for it?
