Penalty for Felony Reckless Conduct

My question involves criminal law for the state of: IL

Hi, If someone is convicted under reckless conduct, class 4 felony, is there a mandatory prison term? Because in IL, I believe that class 4 felonies are subject to 1-3 years in prison.

Can you be convicted of a class 4 felony and serve only probation? Is it possible and up to the judges discretion?

yes, it's possible that the judge only orders probation - actual incarceration isn't mandatory on a class 4 felony - only on felonies class "x" or higher

Because I thought Illinois has determinate sentencing unlike some other states. But its still within the judge's discretion?

It has determinate sentencing, for crimes that carry a mandatory minimum, which a class 4 felony doesn't. The judge has the discretion to include incarceration or not.
