Default Company is Not Following Agreed Terms

My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: California
I join a new company in California.
The company paid the moving expense and took two years bond.
If I leave the company before i have to pay back the moving expense on pro rate basis.
the company started 10% cut in time and salary, just after two months of job starting.
A the company is not following the contract, if i leave the job in between what would be my liability.
The company also promised verbally many things which it is fulfilling.

It is perfectly legal for an employer to require moving expenses to be repaid if the employee leaves before a specified time period.

Do you have a written contract that states your work time and salary will be X no matter what.

Verbal contracts are generally not worth the paper they're printed on.

Please explain what these issues have to do with collective bargaining. Are you a member of a union?

    Thanks for the reponse.
I am not a union member.
Contract defines the salary and work hours, but does not say "no matter what" .
    I would appreciate some guidance.

Only an attorney who can read every word of the documents in question can tell you first, whether or not they are considered contracts (all contracts are agreements; not all agreements are contracts) and whether or not they are legally binding. A message board cannot offer anything more than a reasonably informed guess.

There are no laws governing moving expenses. Some companies do it, other companies don't. Some of the companies that do it require reimbursement, others don't. This is governed completely by the contract.

As the best legal expert I've encountered in my 30-year career has already advised you, you need to have your contract reviewed by an attorney to see if it's enforceable. Continuing to post here will be of no use to you.

That is as much and more than I've ever seen in a relocation agreement.

My advise stands. (thank you, eerelations! )) Take the agreement to an attorney in your state, or the state under which the agreement is said to be governed, if different. The terms under which it is and is not considered binding are determined by the terms of the contract, not by law.
