Indiana (moms) Ex Boyfriend left personal belongings.

Hiya, My mothers ex live in boyfriend left 2 years ago. He abandoned a lot of personal property in the garage and in the house. Whats my states law about getting rid of it? I tried calling non emergency police number and they said to check with an attorney..(hence this thread)...My mom is still in contact with her ex boyfriend. He says he wants his stuff but when they set deadlines he never comes and gets any of his belongings. As I said its been over 2 years. She set a new deadline for this weekend and he still hasn't showed up...Whats the best way of legally getting rid of his belongings?

I can't see an Indiana statute (even though they have a lot which speak of lost or abandoned property) which applies to these circumstances. How much stuff is there? Is it so much that you can't drop it off?

Well yeah pretty much... He is a carpet installer and we have tons of left over carpet and pad. A big Chandalier...T.V.'s a computer stereo... and lots of other stuff...Plus he won't give us an adress where he is staying...we can get ahold of him by Telephone but he just won't come get his stuff...
