Do Appeals Return to Same Judge if That Judge Moved to a Different Part of the System

My question involves court procedures for the state of: North Carolina

Would an appeal of an order in family court be sent back to the original judge that issued the order if they have been assigned to another
area of the court system (i.e. re-assigned from family court cases to criminal court cases)?

When the appeals court remands a case back, it refers to the "court" not to a particular judge. If the superior court remands it back to Juvenile court district 10/wake county, it goes back to that court regardless of what judges might be there. They assume judges can read the original record as well as the superior court decision even if they aren't the one who rendered the original decision.
