1. We are all expected to drive within the limits of the law. And when you drive 800 miles a week and not get cited, you aren't doing us any favors. It only and simply means that you are saving yourself some time, money and hassle, still you get zero credits because of it, and you don't get a break on willful wanton and complete disregard for the law whenever you choose.

2. I'm not going to sit here explaining to you the reasoning why public offenses carry penalties, or how they equally apply to everyone. The simple fact that you are claiming you don't see the benefit behind being penalized, is more reason why you SHOULD be penalized. Obviously the lesson behind these mistakes you made has not sunk in yet. In the least and if you do get your license suspended, you might think twice about how miserable it was to get penalized and so it might the next time you will think twice about “speeding multiple times” like you did last summer. '

I never said anything about not wanting to be penalized, just how irrational it would be to take away a persons license who has clearly shown they are capable of driving under the law and respectfully. I will not be getting a suspension, but thank you for your lecture. "Mature" people who completely cross personal boundaries and make judgments over a few short paragraphs is inane to me.

3. I don't know why it took a year for these cases to get to this stage, but that has zero effect on the potential penalty you are likely to get. The fact that it took so long and in the slight chance that you agonized over what the penalties might be makes whatever penalty a bit harsher to deal with but still, your dues have got to be paid.

4. Your claim that you are a good driver is completely shot down by the simple fact that you admit to making such rash and irresponsible decisions. He next time you feel the need for speed, get yourself on a track -I'm sure you have private tracks in your area- and knock yourself out. Don't do it on public highways where you are likely to hurt others and damage their property.

You were 19 years old. If you claim to be an adult who is worthy of a driver's license, you are also an adult who should act in a responsible manner and take responsibility for your own actions.

Your acting so non-nonchalant, pretending that accumulating 4 citations in a matter of weeks is not a big deal, that you don't see the point behind the penalty is indicative of the same level of immaturity, if not worse.

So what benefit could be gained by suspending your license? How about teaching you a lesson about responsibility, and about how actions have consequences, and about how when you claim entitlement to the privileges of an adult man, you take on the responsibilities that come along.

And we are not on trial here for 4 violations, you are, so whether we are a danger to the road compared to you or not, that is not the issue. the issue is you were caught and you are still in denial.

To be a "competent" driver, and since being in compliance of the rules of the road is a legal requirement, it means NOT getting cited. Well, soon enough, your driving record will be tarnished with several violations; and when it comes to competent, you FAILED!

You want someone to do something for you, hire an attorney. But you were already told that!

But here you go.. here is some help understanding the following:

Your first ticket was reduced, simply because IT IS YOUR FIRST TICKET. There was NOTHING on your record.... YET. And hence the $50. As for court costs, those are usually assessed when you go to trial, you didn't go to trial so that is no great feat!

Problem for you, its down hill from here on!

And the resolution to your problem is you being penalized which is up to the discretion of the prosecuting attorney. While it maybe true that the final decision is up to you, you have zero control over what you get offered.

It isn't. I saw a state park police officer and didn't think he could pull me over at the time. Drove past him slowly (he was going 80) and smiled. He didn't think it was very funny

Hey, I can't help it if you are locked out of being able to know that someone with a string of tickets not only isn't a good driver, but is a danger to the rest of us. You got the tickets because you are a danger to the rest of us but you think you're perfect. Read the link to the definition of narcissist again.

Now let's see if the judge and your insurance company think you're a good driver. In my state you'd lose your license for a year and then get put into a high risk insurance pool for three more years where your insurance premiums would quadruple or more.

They do that to all "good drivers" who 4 times in a row are "first offenders," LOL.

You asked for leniency, you got the fine reduced. Still counts against you as a moving violation. It still adds violation points to your record.

I'd hate to see how you would have fared if you didn't know the A.D.A.... That one little tid bit, by the way, is enough proof that you are full of 5hit!

I assure you the ADA would NOT under any circumstances agree to prosecute your case if there was a hint of him knowing you, its called conflict of interest and the slightest hint of it can damage a career. So I'd be careful about who I brag about knowing or not knowing. Quit being an idiot, quit trying to make yourself seem important when all you're doing is possibly causing trouble to others.

My license wasn't suspended, but I did have to go to traffic school. It wasn't too bad, but I learned my lesson and never had to go again. (although I have gone *really* fast a time or two since then.) This was not in NYC, but just an anecdote about what *may* happen to someone who is a habitual traffic offender.
