My question involves judgment recovery in the State of: Florida.
Does freelance income that is reported on a schedule C become available for garnishment if there's a judgment entered? This is the only income for the household other than SS, and the head of household is the one being sued.
We are trying to decide what to do - an attorney said try to settle for half in a lump sum. If we had a lump sum of half we'd have paid it by now. Duh.
This is for a medical credit card that was charged off WHILE we were still making payments and sold to a junk debt buyer, and the JDB is suing. We have only two weeks to respond.
Thanks!
