Have Not Been Able to Contact Public Defender

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California.

So i was appointed a public defender and I have tried contacting him, but he hasn't responded. My court case is July 18. What do I do if he hasn't contacted me?

If you are actually talking about a public defender, you can contact the lawyer's supervisor at the public defender's office.

If you are talking about a private lawyer who takes court appointments, I hope that between now and the 18th you can get in touch with your lawyer. You tried contacting him by what means, how long ago?
