My husband was driving homw from work, when he approached a stop sign and stopped, unfortunately, he did not realize that there was a cop car at the intersection, to which he was supposed to yield the right of way.
Therefore, he passed to the other side of the intersection, where the cop car asked him to stop and took his details to send him a ticket. We knoe this was a mistake and are ready to pay the fine, but we are worried about him getting points on his license. This was in the state of NY.
Is there a logical defense that we can use, to avoid getting the points and pay minimum possible for the ticket?
Prompt responses would be highly appreciated.
