You will not be emancipated - period.

You cannot support yourself, and the court will NOT emancipate a minor so they can go play house with a boyfriend.

Sorry kiddo - it's not happening. If you're being abused, call child services.

In Missouri, the only way to become emancipated is to either be married or receive permission from your parents to be emancipated. They would have to petition on your behalf.

The other issue is that you also have to be able to support yourself financially and have a place to live. If you can't show this, a court will deny any emancipation petition.

If you're being abuse, you can report your parents and try to get removed from the home. They'll usually try and place you with a relative. If one isn't available, you'll likely be placed in a group home.

Note that you can't get married in Missouri under 18 without parental consent (and under 15 without a court authorizing it which is highly unlikely).

well playing house isnt on my agenda thank you . but another thing on my mind is that if i get emancipated and live with my aunt and it gets pettiond . i just figured that emancipation wld be easyer on my mom and aunts relation ship instead of her fighting for custody ... is it possible if i do get a job and a way to support myself .??

    Sweetheart, listen.

Unless you are able to pay EVERY SINGLE CENT of what it costs to support you - that means rent (the market rate, not a token for living in someone else's house), utilities, food, clothing, transportation, medical care, insurance, staples, school fees and supplies, incidentals and others - without assistance, AND can show the court that you have a HISTORY of taking care of yourself AND you are still in school and making better than average grades, you WILL NOT be emancipated. You WILL NOT be emancipated to go live with your aunt, your boyfriend, or your boyfriend's mother. That's not what emancipation means.

Emancipation is not and never was intended to be a means for a minor to leave a bad situation. It was and is intended to be a means of providing legal protections to those minors who, due to circumstances outside their own control, found themselves living on their own.
