I should note that the most common cause of stomach ulcers is a bacteria known a H. pylori. It does not work at a speed that the officer could infect you and then an ulcer develops a few hours later. Furthermore "stress ulcers" are generally from physiological stress (i.e. burns, massive trauma, etc), not psychological stress. Unless your wife is the next Rodney King or Kelly Thomas, chances are her ulcer isn't from the police encounter.
