I have to admit that made me giggle. Actually, LOL. Even if you'd just gnawed a big ol' nug of Humboldt County's finest you would not end up with a green tongue. Good thing you hadn't just finished an apple Laffy Taffy or Jolly Rancher, you'd probably still be in the pokey! Laffy and Rancher would've definitely tainted ya green for a spell. Used to be a taffy and rancher addict myself and had green tongue all the time as a youngster.

As far as how I know about the other sorta 'staining'.....read a book on it one time.....and a scientific research paper authored by an associate.....and saw it mentioned during a documentary on a cable science channel.

Yeah! That's what happened. I'm sure of it!

I feel sorry for any taffy consumers that the "drug recognition expert" officer happens across.

Actually, the tongue can be a great source of residue and the discoloration and texture can provide valuable insight as to the nature of substances consumed. No, they are not looking for green similar to a Jolly Rancher.

Yes, a comprehensive DRE evaluation will include a gander into the abyss ... but, by the description, this was - at best - a very, very cursory DRE evaluation, or may not have been one at all. A proper DRE eval could take 30 minutes or more. A good field eval would likely take at least 15.
