My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: New Jersey



I cosigned for a Student Loan for a friends son. Would his parents be accountable for this? He is still in school and lives at home. If so, where would I go to file papers. Thank you for your assistance.

I guess we are to infer that the borrower defaulted and that the creditor is now going after you? No, his parents aren't responsible for making you whole - they didn't cosign, I suspect because they knew junior better than you did.
