Default Battery and Criminal Destruction of Property
A verbal fight with my friend turned violent when I hit him with an open (fist) a couple of times and then broke his cell phone. This is my first conviction involving violence. I once had a past misdeameanor for "tampering with a vehicle" in C.A. but it was expunged this year. My court date is on 09/21 and this occured in Illinois. Cook Co. (Chiacgo). What kind of punishment would I be looking at?
And can a person's record be expunged a second time?

You're probably going to be sentenced to probation (with fines, court costs, possible anger management classes, possible community service, etc.).

It is likely that your conviction would be deemed a misdemeanor crime of violence, thus not subject to expungement without your first getting a pardon. I would suggest consulting a criminal defense lawyer for assistance in getting an outcome which will help you avoid a criminal conviction or which would be eligible for expungement.
