Online Business, Accept Payment Through Mail and Donations

My question involves business law in the state of: All states

I wish to sell things and advertise them, post them on my blog. I want to accept payment through snail mail and provide an address where they can send it (not my address)

I don't like how people abuse the chargeback fees on paypal so I prefer snail mail.

1) IF I don't have a business license, will I get in trouble for posting it? Or will I get in trouble if an actual transaction occurs?

2) Can I accept donations through snail mail over the internet no problem, for non charity and business purposes as long as I say so?

If you want to know the law of all states, you have a lot of research to do. Laws are different in each state.

If you're not a tax exempt (charity or other) any donations are taxable as income to you and not deductible as income to others. You should be careful not to misrepresent the nature of such "donations."

As Mr. K says, much of the rest is dependent on where you operate. You might need a business license. You may need to collect sales tax on the items. You may be subject to a number of local taxes. You certainly are subject to federal income tax on you profits.

What address are you envisioning to have people send the money to?

I plan to have them send it to my workplace address. I'll be sure to get a business license then.
