My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Michigan
I just received my MBA, which was fully paid for by my current employer. I signed a contract stating I am responsible for paying back the tuition assistance if I leave the company within 2 years, but the contract did not define a term period of when the money is due.
I have accepted a position with a new employer and am responsible for paying back the full tuition assistance. I have a meeting next week with HR to discuss the payback terms.
Can someone please help me understand my rights and what time period I have to pay back the tuition assistance?
