Default Federal Unemployment After Working on a Us Base in Afghanistan

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: None

I'm working overseas on a US base. My employer is based in the US. I'm working on a federal contract (Logcap IV). My question has two parts. Is there any such thing as federal unemployment for individuals in my situation, or am I totally out of luck if my employer isn't paying into any state unemployment program? Can I quit my job and still claim benifits if I'm working in a war zone and facing rocket attacks on a regular basis?

There is UI for federal employees, but the rules are the same as for everyone else - you need to be an employee (you appear to be a contractor), and you need to have lost your job through no fault of your own. That means you've been laid off, or the facility has closed, or you've been let go for reasons other than malfeasance.

Can I quit my job and still claim benifits if I'm working in a war zone and facing rocket attacks on a regular basis?
No. One presumes that you were aware of where you would be working and what the conditions there were before you signed the contract, so you can't claim workplace conditions as a reason to quit, and again, to be eligible for UI, you can't quit.
