My question involves criminal records for the state of: NY
Through a friend I've been exposed to all things Korean ---cuisine, language, and culture, and now I kind of want to branch out, go there and practice what I've learned. I'm a college graduate interested in teaching english overseas in Korea through a program called EPIK (http://www.teachaway.com/teach-engli...ea/visa-korea/) .One of the documents that they ask for is a certified national level criminal background check and I'm assuming that means federal (FBI). More than 5 years ago I was taking the subway in NY and used a relative half fare metrocard; unfortunately I wasn't suppose to even though he gave me the card to use. I spoke with one of the officers who was going to let me go, but his partner told him not to. I have never been in trouble before for anything prior to this. I was arrested for theft of services, PL 165.15(3) and given an ACD. Six months my record was sealed and the case dismissed. Will this show up with the documentation, if so is there any way for me to clear this up before I get the paperwork.
