My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Florida
I recently came off a suspension in the State of Florida in Orange County.
We had hired a lawyer who got the suspension reduced and was told by both the lawyer and the DMV that on June 8th My liscense could be renewed without any issues.
Well, come June the 8th I attempt to get my liscense, and I am told that I will need an SR22 before I can do so. Not a big deal but again I was never told this until the day I came in. Right after being told about the SR22 I am told that on July the 9th my liscense will be suspended again till July the ninth of 2013. We had a discussion with the teller at the DMV about how we had a court order clearing me to get my liscense in full. That points had been dropped etc. He tells us to go to the back of the DMV into this other room in which the woman at the desk in that room says she understands what we are saying. We show her everything we have and she tells us that after I get my SR22 to come back to her and she will input the court order into the system and have the july 9th suspension removed. She told us this with authority and entirely sure of her answer. We thank her and leave the DMV thinking everything is simple and we know what we have to do.
I return to the DMV with SR22 insurance proof as well as the knowladge that the insurance company filed the SR22 with the state of Florida DMV. After obtaining my liscense I was told that in two weeks I would have my liscense suspended for one year. I then went back to that office I had gone to in the DMV building and spoke with another woman that said the court order was placed into the system and the DMV simply inserted another tickets points where they had removed the points from the court order. At this point I havent driven for about 8 months total and all the tickets have been paid and all D6 forms have been filed as well as all Driving courses and requirements met (SR22, 12hour ADI course, D6s, and fines taken care of).
How is it that they are resuspending me? Why wouldnt they have told me this months ago? Each time a different story yet never did the story I was told involve this one year suspension. What can I do about this?
I have a new lawyer and we are seeing him on Friday but Im just at a loss for how this happens.
I mean all my tickets have been in the system for over 8 months now. So how can they 'insert' points when all the points should have already been there! I mean why do I even have this small period of time where my liscense is valid... I just cannot understand this.
