Re: Can Police Subpoena Credit Card Information
Well, all I can say is I think the stuff in NCIS where they have the multi-million dollar lab with the see through displays that are touch sensitive and obviously have the fastest computer system in the world hooked up to them. Along with that, that near instantaneous DNA lab is something every cop shop should have.
Doesn't every cop shop have stuff like that?
If the police obtain your personal information through your credit card company / bank, are they required to notify you under privacy laws, or can police do it quietly?
It requires permission or a subpoena to acquire most of the personal records they utilize.
There is a lot of artistic license in the cop drama shows.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.
