Default If You Get a Ticket After Transferring Your License, Will the New State Find Out

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: New York(?)

A few days ago, I got a speeding ticket in New York for going 62 in a 45. Normally this would be straightforward: pay it and move on, or fight it. But, I just moved to Texas and surrendered my New York drivers license for a TX drivers license.

Since I still have a month to respond to the ticket, has or will it follow me to Texas?
Would it now be considered an out of state speeding ticket?
If I do plead guilty, would Texas be responsible for any punishment beyond the NY ticket I paid? If so, what sort of penalty does TX typically give for this moving violation?

And lastly, what course of action would you recommend taking?

That depends on what you mean by "follow" you. This was a violation of NY law, in NY. NY is not going to forward the charges to TX and have the violation adjudicated under TX law. However, if you fail to take care of the ticket and NY suspends your driving privileges in NY, TX will likely find out about it and suspend your TX license too.

No. The violation occurred in NY while you still had your NY license. So, TX will have no interest in it unless NY issues a suspension.

No. Any penalty for this violation will be up to NY.

You already answered this question here:

Behind the badge is a person. Behind the person is an ego. This is as it should be, person at the center and ego to the back.

Thank you very much for clarifying! I've never had any sort of moving or other violation before, and so any help is much appreciated.
