Driving Privileges in California with a Suspended License

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California.

I am an foreign student receiving my graduate degree in California and have been in California since June 2010. I received a conviction for "exhibition of speed" a few months ago after being pulled over for a DUI.

My California driver's license has been suspended between May-September 2012. However, I currently have an international driver's license. My question is whether I can drive in California with an international driver's license while my California license has explicitly been suspended. Thank you.

No. if your privilege to drive has been revoked by CA then you cannot drive here. Period. Any car you operate can be subject to a 30 day impound (costing the owner about $3,000) and you would be subject to arrest and prosecution for a misdemeanor criminal offense.

And, as a note, we do not recognize any form of "international driver's license" here in CA anyway.
