Hi my name is Brianna and I am from southern California. I traded in my car 2 months ago for a used gas saver and the dealer still hasn't paid off my trade in. The dealer gave me 20,000 for my old car which I still owed 17,500 on and used the 2,500 as a down payment for a used car. So I called the dealer and kept on asking and bugging them when they were going to pay off my trade in and they keep on giving me excuses. Now I'm stuck with 2 car payments. Is there a law on when the dealer has to pay for my trade in by in the state of California? when I signed the contract the sales rep told me that they would take care of the payoff for my trade in and that i didn't have to worry about it no more but my finance company says that I have to pay for my trade in which I don't have. So is there a law where the dealer has to pay off a trade in in a certain amount of time?

so what can I do for the dealer to pay off my trade in? Can I take them to court?
