What is the difference in a deposition hearing and a reaffirmation hearing and what would be the penalty for missing either one?
If you fail to show up to the deposition that was set either by your Trustee or some ticked off creditor, you will receive a call as to why you did not show up, the other side will attempt to reset the deposition and if you fail to cooperate the other side will file a Motion to Compel your attendance - very, very bad.
If you fail to show up to the hearing on the approval of the Reaffirmation Agreement that was set by the Court as a normal event in the administration of a typical Chapter 7, the Judge will most likely deny the Motion or continue the hearing to another day to see if you show for that one.
Since you use “reaffirmation” and “deposition” in the same sentence and neither has anything to do with the other, I have to wonder what is really going on. Did some creditor file or threaten to file a complaint against you? You need to tell us what is going on if you want us to try to assist you.
Edt: Based upon a prior thread, I see there is an issue of you trying to keep non-exempt property from the Trustee. Don't go there as you will lose your right to a discharge. Your job is to fully cooperate with the Trustee. If you don't you will have to face the consequences.
