Default Consequences of a Domestic Violence Conviction
Hi,

I was placed on probation for domestic violance and charged with assult. I completed my probation terms which initially was a year; I completed everything in 6 months. What is the outcome of this for me and what I am elidgable for? I complete my college degree in January and don't want this to impact me with my future employment. I am looking for legal advice and legal representation, no matter the cost; I just want this sealed. I have not been convicted, but in accordance to what I have read; I might as well just been. The state of Texas is horrible with it's citizens, how are they to move on with their lives when they can't even apply for housing.

Thanks for your help.

Default Re: family dispute
From what you say, you have a conviction on your record. Whether you have any remedies available in relation to that conviction will depend upon your state. A domestic violence conviction can affect your ability to own or carry a firearm, and thus can affect your ability to get jobs which have that requirement.
